Excelerate Me! ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you use our platform as a student, parent, teacher, or institutional administrator.

Excelerate Me! is an online platform that provides learning content, interactive tools, and exam practice resources primarily designed for students in Grades K–12, their parents, teachers, and educational institutions.

3. What Information We Collect
a. Information Provided by You
- Students: name, grade level, email (if applicable), username, password, school affiliation (optional).
- Parents: name, email, linked student accounts.
- Teachers/Institutions: name, work email, school name, role/title, classroom assignments, rosters.
b. Automatically Collected Information
- Device/browser type, IP address, time spent on platform, pages viewed, diagnostic data.
- Cookies and tracking for login and personalization (see Section 9).
c. Student Data (Education Records)
When schools or teachers use Excelerate Me! for instruction, we may collect data classified as "Student Data" under applicable laws (e.g. FERPA, COPPA). This includes:
- Student login activity
- Scores on exercises, quizzes
- Progress tracking
- Assignment data
Important: We do not use Student Data for commercial purposes like marketing.
4. How We Use the Information
We use collected data to:
- Deliver personalized educational content and assessments
- Track and report student progress
- Allow teacher and parent oversight
- Improve user experience and platform performance
- Respond to support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell personal data, including Student Data.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We only share information:
- With consent: When you (or your school) authorize us to share data.
- With service providers: Who help operate the platform (e.g., hosting, analytics) under strict confidentiality.
- With schools: Student data is shared with teachers/schools for educational purposes.
- For legal reasons: As required by law or to protect safety and platform integrity.
We do not share data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
6. Student Data Privacy (K–12)
- We comply with COPPA: Parental consent is required for students under 13.
- We comply with FERPA: Student data belongs to the institution, not Excelerate Me!
- We store student data securely, and allow access, correction, or deletion requests from parents or schools.
- We offer district-level agreements for school-wide or system-wide rollouts.

8. How We Store and Protect Your Data
- Data is stored securely on servers hosted in Australia (or other compliant regions).
- We implement encryption, role-based access, regular audits, and data backup protocols.
- In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users as required by applicable laws.
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies for:
- Login and authentication
- User experience personalization
- Performance analytics (e.g., session duration, page views)
We do not use cookies for behavioral advertising. Users can adjust cookie settings in their browser.
10. Data Retention
- We retain student learning data as long as necessary to support educational goals.
- Student accounts inactive for more than 2 years may be anonymized or deleted.
- Institutional data is retained in accordance with contractual agreements.
11. Third-Party Tools
Some tools integrated into the platform (e.g., video players, AI tutors) may come from third parties. We vet these partners and ensure data privacy contracts are in place. We do not allow unauthorized data transfer.
12. International Users
If you are accessing the platform from outside Australia:
- Your information will be transferred to and processed in Australia.
- We adhere to GDPR-compliant practices for users in the EU/EEA.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notices. Continued use of the platform after updates indicates acceptance.
